Instagram Wall Art with Printstagram!

So you have about 476 amazing pictures on Instagram of your friends making silly faces, your trip to San Francisco, your barista's finest latte art, the best meal you ever ate, and cute dogs that belong to strangers. But the eternal question: what do you do with them all?

My friends Abby and Melissa introduced me to a fantastic site  called Printstagram that makes affordable, high-quality  Instagram prints in several different sizes - $12 for a set of 24 4 x 4" prints. Inspired, my roommates and I created this cheap, fun wall art project using 36 prints (and it took less than an hour!).

Here's how.

What You'll Need

- 36 4 x 4" Instagram prints
- 15-20 feet of 20-guage jewelry wire
- 36 mini clothespins
- 6 tack nails and a hammer
- Measuring tape
- Heavy duty scissors or wire cutters
- Pencil

1. Find some wall space where you've got at least 4-5 feet of space to work with and figure out approximately how high on the wall you'd like the display to start. Make an approximate mark on the wall using a pencil.

2. Using this starting point as the bottom of the display, measure out 4 feet. This is how long each row of the display will be. Make a pencil mark at each end - this is where your tack nails will go. Check for levelness by measuring up from the bottom of the wall to make sure your marks are straight!

3. Measure up 9 inches from each mark to determine where the 2nd row will go, and up another 9 inches for the 3rd row. Make more pencil marks for your nails.

4. Hammer time! Hammer the 6 nails into the wall where you made pencil guidelines. Make sure the nails are straight - and only hammer them halfway into the wall. You need space to wrap wire around the nails.

5. Wrap wire around bottom rightmost nail. Five or six times around should do it. Pull the wire tight and then wrap around the nail on the opposite site. Make sure the wire is straight and remains taut, otherwise you'll get weird kinks and loops that will make it hard to hang your pictures. Cut off excess wire using wire cutters or heavy-duty scissors. Repeat for 2nd and 3rd rows.

6. The fun part - hang your pictures! Clip each photo to the wire using tiny clothespins. I found the best way to do this was to hang all the pictures randomly first to get the spacing right, then move pictures around to get the best combination of colors and subject matter.

And that's it! A super fun, easy, and affordable way to show off your Instagram memories and add a conversation piece to any room.

Thank you again to Abby and Melissa for the inspiration as well as this post on Apartment Therapy.
